Greetings I’m Laura Lyn O’Neil, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), but you can call me Laura. I never intended to be an entrepreneur; this was birthed from a deep desire to fix a problem with no idea where to begin. Health care has been the thing I have been most passionate about in my life: access to it, the cost of it, and who were the best providers of it.

As a Navy veteran I treated sailors and marines and fell in love with the clinical laboratory after leaving the Navy in 2008 I contracted all over the US from Iowa to Hawaii and many places in between as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) I came home to New York because my father was ill and I as the oldest child could not stay away. I already knew the American health care system was broken and didn’t serve us all equally however seeing what my father, my stepmother and then my own mother would endure set fire to something inside me. I went back to school wanting to make a difference but still not knowing exactly how. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master in Public Administration from Long Island University- Post Campus hoping to write policies that would impact how we as Americans received health care. I took a job with a small health insurance company soon after completing my MPA and it was there I realized how truly rigged the system was and what was worse we as the consumers didn’t even realize. it Fast forward a decade and no opportunities to write policy ever presented itself.  Then it hit me one day why don’t you try to help the people doing what you already know. I have over a decade of experience telling people no but if I could get to you before you went out of network, before you tried to negotiate with the health plan on your own or before you switched plans completely thinking you would get a better deal elsewhere I might be able to help you get what you want moreover what you believe that you need. Thus, inspired consulting and education LLC was born.

I want to empower those who don’t think anything can be done to change health care I want to prove to you the consumer we are more powerful than you think and most important I want you to take good care of yourself because no one will look after your interests better than you will.
